Tidbits

• I found a really interesting article about dashes, spaces, and other punctuation, and how to use it in [X]HTML: The Trouble With EM ’n EN (and Other Shady Characters). Did you know there were 14 types of quote? I only knew of 6…

Hah, I didn’t know you cared.
But, well, since we are on the subject, well done for picking up on this. Personally I have been fighting a losing battle on this for years. I use two sources on this. Hard and fast rules are in the MHRA style book, from Maney publishers, and more prosaically the two books by Robin Williams — The Mac is Not a Typewiter — and — Beyond the Mac is Not a Typewiter — both available from Peachpit. As to HTML I don’t really know enough about it, but I will try harder. Thanks for the reference though.
